If you want to get fit while having fun, Sunset Point Sports Resort offers you intensive Capoeira courses as well, this martial art from Brazil of African origins that combines traditional music with dance and self defense. Capoeira was created in Brazil by slaves brought from Africa sometime after the sixteenth century. Participants form a roda, or circle, and take turns either playing musical instruments (such as the Berimbau), singing, or ritually sparring in pairs in the center of the circle. The sparring is marked by fluid acrobatic play, feints and extensive use of sweeps, kicks and headbutts. Capoeira does not focus on injuring the opponent. Rather, it emphasizes skill, often prefering to show the movement without completing it, enforcing their superiority in the roda. If an opponent cannot dodge a slow attack, there is no reason to use a faster one. Lessons are open to all levels, from complete beginners to advanced.

Sunset Point Sports Resort offers Capoeria courses for all levels, with the "unique" mestre Marcelo. In summer, this activity usually take place at the end of the day on the rooftop open air gym in the late afternoon, while enjoying the spectacular sunsets over the Bay of San Antonio and its islands, or right on the beach !
